The October Musical Theatre Bootcamp.

Two days of singing, acting, dancing, games and performance in the October half term, working on numbers from Six, School of Rock and Paddington. Parents are invited in at the end of the day.

Numbers chosen so there is something for everyone: the pop swagger of Six, the noise of School of Rock and the warmth of Paddington. Singing, choreography and scene work around each, finishing with a performance.

Early Bird prices run until 30 September. After that the standard prices apply.

10% sibling discount applies throughout, Early Bird or standard. A non-refundable deposit of £20 per child secures the place, and payment details are sent once you have booked. Spaces are limited and allocated first come, first served.

A day at bootcamp

Ten till three, and they will sleep well that night.

  1. Warm up and games

    Voices, bodies and the bit where everyone stops being shy. Drama games are the fastest way to turn a room of strangers into a company.

  2. Learn the numbers

    Vocals and choreography from the three shows, taught in sections so everyone can keep up whatever they have done before.

  3. Scene work

    Script and character work around the songs, so the numbers sit inside a story rather than floating on their own.

  4. Perform it

    The day ends with a run of what they have built, and parents are invited in to watch.

Through the year

Bootcamps run twice a year.

October and summer, in the school holidays. Deliberately not every break, so each one is properly prepared rather than churned out.

Between bootcamps, the weekly Saturday classes run through term time from January.

Every term

Workshops with West End performers.

Once a term, a performer currently working in the West End comes in to teach. Not a talk, a working session.

These are included in the term fee for everyone in the weekly classes rather than sold as an extra, because the point is that every young performer gets to do it.
