Musical theatre asks children to do three things at once. Rather than splitting them into separate lessons, every class works across all three, which is how it actually happens on a stage.
Proper singing technique from a working vocal coach who teaches around eighty students a week. Solo and ensemble, and how to sing while you are moving.
Script work, drama games, improvisation and accents. Learning to make a choice about a character and then commit to it in front of other people.
Routines and technique built for musical theatre, so children can pick up choreography quickly and perform it with the rest of a company.
Each class runs for an hour and a half, which is long enough to properly explore all three disciplines rather than rushing one of them.

Two days of musical theatre in the October half term, working on numbers from Six, School of Rock and Paddington. Singing, acting, dancing, games and a performance to finish, with parents invited in at the end.

The Future Performer is led by Kim Thursfield, bringing together her experience as a professionally trained performer, vocal coach, talent agent, performing arts teacher, producer and director, across more than eighteen years in the industry.
Classes also include termly workshops with West End performers, so young people get to work with people currently doing the job.
That experience shapes everything here. But The Future Performer is not about turning every child into a professional performer. It is about helping every young person become a more confident version of themselves.
